Hi! Welcome to my website. Thanks for coming by. You already know my name - at least, I hope you do - but who am I?
I'm a passionate creator across not only many disciplines, but departments within those disciplines. I began as an actor for Theatre and still love to act to this day - since then, I've developed other skills to supplement it. Most notably, I do a lot of sound design & music composition for plays & have recently begun to get into Video Game design as well.
I was born in the small town of Marysville, KS where I was able to find my artistic voice early, which was extremely lucky for me in that town of 3,000. I got to work with other Theatre artists and learn, in my earliest days, how to act & collaborate on art professionally. As time moved on, I began to explore tech more and more, and get into Sound Design & eventually, Lighting Design.
After graduating from Marysville High School in 2015, I decided to drive a whole HOUR away to Kansas State University for college, where I got degrees in Theatre, Film Studies, and Musical Theatre. During my time at K-State, I was also blessed with great leadership opportunities, such as leading the Men's A Cappella Choir, Cadence, as music director for two years, which let me take them for the first time to the ICCA competition, the A Cappella festival from Pitch Perfect. Yes, It's real.
I also was blessed with the opportunity to lead as President of the Kansas State Theatre Organization during my final year, which bled into the beginnings of the COVID-19 Pandemic. I used my leadership skills to keep our department together, as optimistic as possible, during this time, by creating a season of virtual staged readings & a play festival where we got to practice writing specifically /for/ virtual performance. I also produced a video guide to virtual productions during this time that has been used across the world to help produce virtual performances.
My main goal with my merging career paths is to continue down the path of Virtual Theatre - not Zoom, but Virtual Reality. I think the future of live performance lies in people's homes with live motion data sent through Virtual Reality, and on platforms like Twitch, YouTube, and much more.
I want to continue pursuing art in all its forms - I love theatre, but I've also been digging a lot more into film & video games. The adaptability of music & sound for video games is always interesting, and the amount of possibilities for storytelling across many disciplines intrigues me. Again - the most I can combine theatre & gaming, the better. What a challenge! But I'm excited for it.
Really, I want to be able to support myself doing the things I love. And hopefully you can be a part of it.
